nice & tan

Hola! its been 2 weeks since i've written!we're going to the mall in a bit so we'll see how far i can actually get. i've been trying to get access to the net for the past 2 weeks, but even if i did i couldn't get to a cad reader. so annoying. But thats the spoiled american speaking. visiting here can really teach you alot... Floating market

so for the past weeks we've visited the floating market, pretty cool stuff. Lots of people and food. we ate pho off a floating boat, that was probably a bad idea because after i returned the bowls i saw her washing the dishes in the brown ass water. that was sooooooooooooooooooooooo gross i think i threw up a little in my mouth. To bad we already ate it.

Theres lots of stuff to buy seriously, bunch of fruits, clothes, little trinkets. After that we went to the alligator farm...
There was lots to see besides alligators.

Sumaly went to the hospital like aug 7th, and we were suppose to fly to malaysia to visit my cousins. so i flew there first and my parents & sumaly flew there a few days after when she was released from the hospital and feeling
better. she just had bad dirrahea and her intestines were inflamed. they gave her lots of saline. We stayed there for 4 days and flew to phuket, thailand and also stayed there for 4 days. One of my card readers broke so no pics from maly on this blog. PhuKet was beautiful.

Our hotel was so nice. there are alot of people all over the world that visit phuket, i actually didn't seem to see many Americans;there were lots of Australians, Chinese, eastern folks and Europeans . i totally recommend if you can go, you should go one day for a few days. when we were sitting around i saw a guy with an OSU beavers shirt! i was so surprised, but he was walking to fast for me to catch up and ask him about it.the night life here and in bangkok is AWESOME. no one ever sleeps i swear. Drinks are fairly cheap. cocktails 150 baht, about $ 4.50 US. The second day we were on the there we went on a tour around the island, looking at the view points and temples. We stopped by kinnaerr's trekking center and rode some elephants. which kinnaerr is my name in thai. it was prettttyyy sweet. The person riding the elephant with us was laos. he was ecstatic we were lao. it was so funny. he was only 16, came from hs to come and take care of elephants, he said. we fed the baby elephants pineapples, after the treats were given he gives you a big smooch on the cheek. he gave me a good one a big MUAH, i've got fat cheeks to apperantly suck on i guess lol.

The day after we went to phi phi island, which really wasnt that fair from the main island. we took a speed boat there it was pretty cool, we got stuck in the front though and it was so bumpy my mom freaked. hahaha. the water there is so blue and clear and very warm, nothing like oregon ocean. we had lunch at the island and just relaxed and snorkeled looking at coral and fish. We forgot to buy a underwater camera...bummer. The sand so white and fine, there was alot of coral and shells washed up upon the shore, theres alot of dead coral near the shore, im assuming because of all the people walking and peeinging in the ocean. There were so many whole shells on the shore! i've never seen so many full shells before.
on the way to phi phi we stopped at monkey island too! just a bunch with wild monkeys on the island wa
iting for tourist to come and give them food. if you make them mad though they are kind of scary, some lady with sunglasses got to close and tried to snatch it of her face, she screamed so loud.

the following day we just relaxed on the beach near our hotel. we went jet skiing and para sailing! it was awesome but short lived! it was weird some one just jumps on with u to control the parasail. its so unsafe but hats thailand for you. most of the people that ran that business were also lao.
later that evening we went to a show called fantasea it was a play for the mostpart. beautifully written and acted. i was impressed it was like a broadway show! no cameras allowed in of course.

This trip was mainly for my dad. i have a half brother here and we finally found him in bangkok. He looks quite like my dad. hes a pretty cool guy he just turned 30 in june. hes a nice guy for the most part, just wants to be apart of the family.

were leaving for udon (sp?) thailand( more north..i think) tomorrow and then heading back to my motherland Laos! i still have 3 aunts northern thailand so it'll be fun to see them. we're staying there for a week and heading back to bangkok the 23rd and then it will be another week and then we'll be heading home!!!!!! i have alot more to write but im getting tired. i doubt ill get net in laos so i'll work on another post tomorrow. love you guys. catch ya later!

The Temples

I've been trying to get some net on my laptop but it keeps crashing/ i cant get any wifi! i'm across the street using the net cafe, its only 30 thb for 30 mins, aka about a dollar a half hour. everything is pretty cheap around here. food, clothes. People seem to be thrown off when i speak english & laos. haaa. anyway i just wanted to post some photos so far. were staying in downtown bangkok. The culture here is very rich, within a few blocks there are sites were you can pray. Also people love the king, i havent quite figured it out yet, but i think everyday some people wear different colors with the amble of the king to show respect.

the weather is hot and humid like no ones business. the city landscape here is pretty much large buildings, with a few run down areas. there are venders EVERYWHERE. thats their income, selling makeup, food, fruits, everything you could imagine. I under estimated thailand, the mall here is way bigger then any mall ive been in filled with lots of expensive stores that we dont seem to have.

were lucky and have family drive us around. the driving here is BIZZAR...plain and simple. there are lanes but really no one drives within them. they have four lanes going one way and like 2 going the other with people driving over the lane all the time. most buses are free here. it seems like no one works with the amount of people wondering around the streets. SO MANY PEOPLE.

we havent done anything to exciting yet here. just alot of shopping. On thurs morning were going to malysia to visit my cousins for a few days and go to singapore. hopefully ill get more net time there. anyway i thinks thats all for now, i have some photos, so enjoy.

sorry the page isnt very pretty, not much time.
